Filtering ▓█ █▓ software is something you would normally have to purchase in ▓█ █▓ addition to a Browser. As we mentioned before, filtering programs ▓█ █▓ often use a word list to filter out unwanted sites. This means that ▓█ █▓ if the word searched for is on the banned list, then your access to ▓█ █▓ any sites containing that word would be blocked. This poses quite a ▓█ █▓ problem as many words are innocent enough in themselves and would ▓█ █▓ not necessarily lead to a pornography site. Genesis' filtering ▓█ █▓ system uses not one, but three separate lists or databases giving ▓█ █▓ you more filtering power than ever before available. The first ▓█ █▓ database or list is for your banned words, e.g.. f*word, c*word etc ▓█ █▓ . The second database or list is for banned *domain names, (*A ▓█ █▓ domain name is the web site address and will end in .com .org .edu ▓█ █▓ .gov etc.) e.g.. www.pornosite.com. The third database or list is ▓█ █▓ for banned *URL's, (*the Universal Resource Locator is a more ▓█ █▓ specific web site address) e.g.. www.pornosite.com/index/00&# 49;. The ▓█ █▓ benefit of having three databases or lists is that there is now no ▓█ █▓ need to include innocent words such as "breast" in your "banne d ▓█ █▓ word list". The Genesis filtering system scans all three databases ▓█ █▓ with every search. So when the search engine (AltaVista, Excite, ▓█ █▓ Yahoo etc.) locates matches to your search for "breast cancer" ▓█ █▓ useful information is not blocked. However when the second and ▓█ █▓ third databases are scanned, if the filter encounters the word " ▓█ █▓ breast" in relation to a pornography site (e.g.. www.pornosite.com/ ▓█ █▓ bigbreasts), the pornography site will be blocked, because other ▓█ █▓ words which are on your banned list (such as "porno" "hardcore " etc ▓█ █▓ .) will tend to also appear either in the URL or on the pornography ▓█ █▓ pages. Even though Genesis scans three databases with every search ▓█ █▓ , there is no noticeable loss of speed with your searches. It all ▓█ █▓ happens very quickly. To prevent you having to constantly update ▓█ █▓ your databases as new sites appear (they do this daily), Genesis is ▓█ █▓ self generating. This means that when new sites appear, Genesis ▓█ █▓ will automatically keep checking your databases, looking for ▓█ █▓ prohibited words in the URL's and Domain names. (E.g.. www. ▓█ █▓ newpornosite.com or www.newsite.com/index/porno) When the new site ▓█ █▓ is discovered, it will be be blocked and the URL/Domain name will ▓█ █▓ be automatically added to the appropriate list or database. ▓█ █▓ Although our focus has been on restricting pornography, this ▓█ █▓ filtering is not limited to just pornography. You can add other ▓█ █▓ words and/or categories such as gambling, terrorist sites, illegal ▓█ █▓ drugs, bomb construction, hate sites etc. As you see the need.
